If You Could Preserve One Denver Structure Forever

Denver has its share of well-known buildings.

There are the obvious ones like the Denver Art Museum, the Colorado Convention Center, or the DPL Central Library. Others have earned their place for reasons that are harder to explain. The cash register building. Casa Bonita. Even the spaceship house on I-70, depending on how wide you draw the map.

So we asked around the studio: if you could preserve one Denver structure forever, what would it be?

That’s a good question.

We have some big love for Union Station, apparently.

“Union Station.”
“Union Station. I think this is iconic to Denver.”
“Denver Union Station is one of the greatest symbols of the city.”

A couple other beauties made the list too:

“The Brown Palace Hotel.”
“Clock Tower on 16th Street Mall.”
“Rossonian Hotel.”

Different buildings, similar idea. Places that have been around long enough to mean something, and that still hold their ground as the city changes around them.

We might be a little biased toward the Rossonian. It’s one we’re working to bring back, with a rich history behind it and an exciting new chapter ahead!
