Curate in OTC

Curate in OTC 2560 1707 Kristy

We have been hired by Kairoi Residential to plan and design a 328,000 SF multi-family project outside of Denver. With a construction cost of $44MM, this project will deliver 270 new units to Orchard Town Center which is an established mixed-use development with about a million SF of office, retail, and restaurant space organized and designed as a walkable town center. Curate will be a highly amenitized community with a clubhouse and poolside cabana. As is evident from these photos, this project is under construction with completion scheduled for Spring 2021. We will keep you posted as the project progresses. In the meantime, if you are heading North out of Denver, give it a look!

Student Housing designed by Craine

University Housing Project-Complete!

University Housing Project-Complete! 2560 1920 Kristy

The newest option for student housing at the Colorado School of Mines is complete! We were honored to be a part of this project, designing exceptional spaces in which these extraordinary students can live, learn, socialize and thrive. This university is renowned for its pursuit of excellence in science and engineering particularly as they relate to solving current energy and environmental challenges. Given this, it makes sense that this residence hall is the School of Mines and the City of Golden’s first LEED Platinum project. This distinction comes from the utilization of energy efficient heating and cooling systems as well as rooftop solar panels.

This project delivers 107 suite-style residential units (249 bedrooms) and 4000 SF of commercial space. Students will be able to take full advantage of a breadth of amenities including a fitness center, numerous indoor community spaces, as well as two outdoor courtyards, laundry facilities and a bike maintenance area.

To the first residents of 1750 Jackson: Welcome to your new home, and thank you in advance to all of you who will make this world a better place!

Common Mixed-Use Coming Soon!

Common Mixed-Use Coming Soon! 2560 1440 Kristy

The City of Golden has approved Common, a four story mixed use project developed by Confluence Companies. On this 3.4 acre site, we have designed this 143,541 SF building, replete with co-work, retail and restaurant space on the ground level. This is a unique project that will provide 164 “co-housing” units. Each unit will have a private bathroom and kitchenette, and all residents will have access to full kitchens and common spaces on each floor. The target demographic is the “digital nomad,” a person who wants to live where they work and have easy access to the mountains and exiting commercial amenities already in Gateway Village. A focus for this project was to create design efficiencies which will allow for reduced construction costs, and therefore, lower price points/affordable rents. This $34 million project will break ground this summer, and is estimated to be complete in 2021.

The Wrigley On Penn

Wash Park Mixed Use Complete!

Wash Park Mixed Use Complete! 4032 3024 Kristy

The Wrigley is complete!  We are so  thankful to have been a part of this fantastic project which is located in West Wash Park, a stone’s throw away from the heart of downtown Denver.  The twenty-nine luxury condos sit perched atop 10,000 square feet of retail space-now claimed by all kinds of fantastic businesses…from Uncle to Fitwall to American Grind.   The lucky residents can just pop downstairs for a quick workout or bite to eat!  It is a charming neighborhood and we certainly wanted to honor that with a timeless design that welcomes community engagement with a highly activated first floor.  If you finish up a run at Wash Park, and are heading North (and a little West) pop over and grab a burger or a giant bowl of ramen…whatever floats your boat.   You may even be able to grab a condo unit…click here for more information.

Timberline Amenity Space

Timberline Farms

Timberline Farms 5760 3840 Kristy

We are happy to announce the completion of this project!   Confluence Companies hired us for master planning and architectural design services on this 26.5 acre site, which is nestled between downtown Denver and the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.  The developer wished to embrace a rural aesthetic, so traditional farmhouse designs were modernized to create a contemporary, relaxed home environment for the residents.  The community consists of 314 units: 14 apartment buildings and 12 for-rent homes. Employing principles of New Urbanist Communities, we designed units with front porches and balconies which face narrower streets in this highly walk-able community.   There is a central green way, with garden plots and a farmhouse.  Further, there is a clubhouse, state of the art fitness center, and expansive swimming pool and deck.  All of these spaces invite residents to engage with each other and the community.  Apparently, this approach has been well received because leasing happened at breakneck speed.  If you are headed out of the big city, you should stop in and check it out! 38th & Blake Project

The Foundry

The Foundry 4000 2188 Kristy

We have been hired by McWhinney to design a 17-story mixed-use building in RiNo.  Located right across from the light rail station, this 474,000 GSF project will deliver 438 residential apartments, 8,000 SF of retail and 5,000 SF of office space.  There will be a rooftop pool and additional amenities on the 16th & 17th floors, allowing residents to enjoy expansive views of the Rocky Mountains and the Denver city skyline.  Energy efficiency was paramount in all aspects of design from architecture to mechanical, electrical and plumbing considerations.  Furthermore, there will be at least 30 income restricted units, which will help to bring additional affordable housing to downtown.  When you wonder, can Denver keep getting better?  The answer is a resounding, YES!  To read more about this project, click here.

Bow Mar Home

Bow Mar Home 1400 911 Kristy

Located in Denver’s Bow Mar neighborhood, Craine Architecture and interior designer, Beth Armijo, collaborated on this stunning home, helping the owners realize their dream.  Context is always an important driver of the design process, as was the case with this project.  However, as architects, we also want to maximize the confluence of beauty and function.  We have overwhelming gratitude that we were able to work with such wonderful owners, and such a talented interior designer.

US Senator Cory Gardner, along with Denver City Councilman, Albus Brooks, and the Director of the Five Points Buisness District, Tracy Winchester toured The Wheatley which is under construction at 2460 Welton Street.  Craine Architecture’s own Dan Craine and Eric Bottenhorn joined the tour,  led by the developer Paul Books of Palisade Partners. Also in attendance were Cole Nelson of Confluence Builders and Ryan Cobbins, owner of Coffee at the Point. A BIG thanks Nicole Frazier–the woman behind the lens for this photo, and the Regional Director at Senator Gardner’s Office.  Exciting things are afoot in the city and Craine Architecture is proud to be a part of it!  If you want to read more about this project which was designed by CA, please click on the links below.
