A New York native, Dan graduated from Colgate University and worked in the financial sector in Manhattan before engaging his passion for architecture through coursework at Harvard. This led him to Denver where he completed his Master of Architecture at the University of Colorado. Dan is a member of Historic Denver’s Board of Trustees, a member of the Congress of New Urbanism, a member of the Arapahoe Square Design Advisory Board and an active member of AIA Denver’s Urban Design Committee. With over twenty years of architectural experience, Dan prides himself on stepping outside of the typical architectural role, blending practicality and beauty while being cognizant of the financial considerations of each project. Dan retains clients because of his team approach to project design and his ability to synthesize client feedback into a final project that offers a superior design aesthetic. When not at work, Dan coaches a youth baseball team and wastes his time waiting for the New York Jets to have a winning season.
A New Englander, Eric earned his degree at Boston Architectural College and has over fifteen years of experience in the field of architecture. In Boston, Eric’s career began. He designed and managed numerous award winning projects throughout the country before moving to Colorado a decade ago. Outside of the office, Eric spends time with his family and pup, Brody. Additionally, Eric finds time to serve as a Planning Commissioner for the Town of Erie, Colorado. His political savvy, affable nature and incredible design capabilities make him an asset to any design team. While one may expect an abrasive demeanor from this Boston native, he is really wicked nice, especially when you support the Pats and Sox….and maybe drive him to the packie.
After being raised all over the world, and settling for many years in Saudi Arabia, Orlando graduated from Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Architecture. His international experience translates into his open-minded approach to diverse design challenges. Orlando has years of experience in high end residential design, master urban planning and acoustics. He has designed exquisite projects and is a valued team member because of his attentiveness to the client, the project, and the design process. He also has an uncanny ability to pick the right NCAA brackets and is a foodie at heart.
Hailing from Illinois, Brad hightailed it out of the Midwest, earning his Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Colorado, and his Master of Architecture from the University of Washington. The combination of his academic experience and international architectural studies has provided him with a depth of architectural knowledge and design capabilities. Brad has extensive experience in urban planning and worked for the city of Seattle in the Department of Planning and Development’s Urban Design office, helping craft a large scale urban design master plan for the Seattle Central Waterfront. Also while in Seattle, he honed his residential design talents while working at an award winning residential design firm. As if his pure design abilities weren’t enough, Brad is a true carnivore and considers Bacon to be a vegetable. Apart from vegetarians, who wouldn’t love that about him?
Megan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Michigan before completing her Master of Architecture at the University of Colorado. Her experience in healthcare design, as well as higher education projects makes her an integral part of the design team at Craine Architecture. Megan has worked on high profile and renowned projects throughout the United States including projects on the medical campuses of Northwestern and Ohio State Universities. Her work on the Ohio State campus makes one wonder…Did this Wolverine sabotage the Buckeye design aesthetic?
Mario graduated from the University of Houston’s Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture with a Bachelor in Architecture and a minor in Construction Management. He recently relocated to Denver and prior, had been working for a large firm in Chicago where he helped design a base wide master plan for the Naval Facilities in Great Lakes, Illinois. Mario worked on several large scale projects including those with the Metra Commuter Rail and the South Air Traffic Control Tower at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. With extensive BIM experience, Mario has unparalleled attention to detail and a depth of understanding of each project which he is readily able to communicate with team members. In an act of sheer bravery, Mario moved to Denver by driving (non-stop!) from Chicago, with his wife, two children, three dogs, and a car in tow.
Kieran is a Colorado native (okay, since he was three!) who earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture at Washington State University, before traversing the country and earning a Master of Architecture at Virginia Tech. Prior to joining our firm, Kieran helped design buildings across the country--from a loft in Manhattan to row houses in Washington. Upon returning to his homeland, he wasted no time influencing the architecture of Denver, working on a project in Union Station. When not at the office, Kieran spends time playing a myriad of sports and enjoying the outdoors with his pup, Trax.
Shane earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Architecture at Montana State University before flying off to Barcelona where he earned a postgraduate diploma in Digital Architecture Production. He boomeranged back to Spain over the course of several years, teaching and designing. Shane has taught graduate level students both abroad and in the United States. You won’t find Shane sporting the leather patched elbow sweaters, but it is easy to see why he was sought after for teaching positions as he is incredibly bright, well-spoken and the consummate designer. Furthermore, Shane has worked for a variety of award winning firms, helping to design spectacular projects ranging from single family residences to inspiring commercial spaces. A surprising fact….Shane is a competitive sailor which begs the question: What on earth is he doing living in Denver? The answer: Apparently he is searching for water.
Lauren earned her Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Arkansas and while there, she completed a study abroad program in Rome. It was this stint in Italy’s capital that sparked her love of cities. She earned her Master of Architecture in Urban Design from the University of Texas at Austin, and completed her Masters Design Study in Berlin which focused on the re-stitching of urban fabric along the once divided city. She brings with her a great deal of international experience, having worked in India, China, Berlin and Texas (I am rather certain they believe they are their own country). She has extensive experience in both architectural and urban design projects. As if that is not enough, Lauren brings with her some serious soccer skills and is a competitive athlete. She is remarkably outgoing, and loves developing and maintaining her friendships. If you happen to have a moment with her, you should certainly ask about that little incident she had on the Nile…Yep, I am going to keep you guessing.
Boasting the most delightful name to say in our firm, Fong comes to Craine after years of experience in project design and master planning. His work has merited numerous awards and praise from the design community and he is known for his exquisite design capabilities, as well as his capacity to quickly solve complex design challenges. Fong earned his Bachelor and Master of Architecture at the University of Wisconsin where he received numerous awards, scholarships and fellowships for his genuine talent. When not at work, Fong is frequently volunteering his time, working with the Hmong community here in Colorado and spending time with his family. What else does Fong do? Well, too many amazing things for us to mention here, but a quick overview: cooking, watching movies and avoiding caterpillars at all costs (They FREAK him out!). Yes, there is a Halloween prank in the works.
William was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and while he still thinks that city is the bee’s knees, he does admit that Denver is pretty spectacular. Being an overachiever in total denial, you will not hear William espousing his merits, but we will for him! He graduated Cum Laude from Texas A & M University and then went on to earn his Master of Architecture at the University of Illinois, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. While there, he received several awards: an International Study Award in 2004 which allowed him to further his education at Tonji University in China, as well as a Creative and Performing Arts Fellowship, and the James M. White Memorial Prize for his exquisite design in 2005. He has a total of four degrees, has worked in award winning architectural studios throughout the country, and is a highly regarded architect. Having three children under the age of 6, he and his lovely wife are pressed for time to pursue leisure activities currently, but William cannot wait to hit the foothills for some hiking, mountain biking and running. While you will find him to be an incredibly mild-mannered man, if you leave crumbs in the kitchen sink…all bets are off! So if he isn’t at his desk, try the office kitchen, where he will be on patrol.
After serving in the United States Coast Guard for four years, Bob earned his Bachelor of Architecture in Florida before diving head first into the field. He has over two decades of experience working in architecture firms across the country and managing a myriad of jobs including hospitality, commercial, educational and retail projects. Despite being raised by parents who were racecar drivers, Bob is able to slow down enough to astutely attend to the detail of buildings, effectively manage projects, and ensure the balance of design and functionality. Bob prefers quiet gatherings, not crowds, which may explain his choice of pets-three betta fish! Well…in truth, he has a more rambunctious sidekick as well, his dog, Shelby. As for leisure, he spends his time golfing, creating abstract paintings, and apparently ticking off most of the drivers in Denver. A big thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Fradley for that!
Olivia earned her Bachelor and Master of Architecture degrees at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, graduating with honors and distinction. During her college career, she earned a myriad of awards including the Master’s Project Alumni Award and has even had her work displayed in museums! After college, Olivia dove into the professional world of architecture working for an architectural firm in Lafayette where she helped develop astonishing designs. She is an extraordinary and multifaceted talent, well beyond her years and we love having her here at CA. When at home, you will find Olivia and her husband crafting future travel plans; top on their list-Germany (where Olivia’s parents met) and Portugal (she is half Portuguese!). As if her design talents were not enough, she is a musical wiz as well, having played drums for three years and piano for eight! Yes, we are absolutely starting a band.
Delaney was born and raised in Cape Elizabeth, Maine and is a hardcore Boston sports fan. Do I even need to mention the football team by name anymore? She graduated with high honors from the University of Colorado, with a Bachelor degree in Environmental Design and an emphasis in Architecture. While enrolled, she completed a study abroad program in Denmark, where one of her projects was published. Yep, she is setting the bar high for the rest of us. She comes to CA already with a wealth of experience in the field, having worked on a variety of developments including high end residential and commercial projects. When dragged away from the office, you will find Delaney happily skiing in the mountains, and in search of good lobster and clam chowder--You can take the woman out of Maine, but you cannot take Maine out of the woman! As an aside, she now has what might be the most adorable Bernese Mountain Dog you have ever seen!
We have another Michigander in our midst! Barrett’s mother taught Michigan history and his father was an attorney whose office was in downtown Detroit. It was there that his love of city life was born…Yes, this can happen people…Detroit isn’t all bad! Barrett was lured to Colorado by way of graduate school; he earned his Master of Architecture at the University of Colorado, Denver. For the past decade, Barrett has been influencing the design of a host of buildings throughout Colorado, including several large scale medical centers and hospitals which hopefully you will admire only from afar. No matter the size, Barrett is able to handle each project with great expertise and he brings with him design capabilities well beyond his years. Outside of the office, Barrett and his wife volunteer for an organization that helps homeless youth in Denver, which is where they met! They have two children, and a rescue pup…the combination of which keep them on their toes.
Anastasia was born and raised in Upstate New York. While completing her degree at Syracuse University School of Architecture, Anastasia was involved in international education programs in both London and Italy, won first place in a comprehensive studio competition, won the Chancellors Award for Public Engagement & Scholarship and had her work exhibited in London. She spent her summer months working at some of the finest firms in New York, focused mostly on high-end single family residential projects. Shortly after graduating, she relocated to Cleveland, Ohio where she gained experience on large scale developments including those in the higher education and hospitality sectors. Anastasia brings with her not only a breadth of experience on a variety of project types, but a passion for melding design and client collaboration. She is a serious and tenacious person, but don’t let that fool you--she also loves to have fun! She set the record for shortest duration between being hired and setting up an office happy hour. She is also the first person to jump in and try new things. To illustrate her propensity for finding unique opportunities for fun, last year she joined a curling league! What does she have in store for this year? She plans on honing her bonsai skills! I suspect she may be shaping the landscape around our office soon…so if you are in Five Points and see some well-manicured mini trees and shrubs…you know who to thank.
Deron hails from the great state of Maine. He has over twenty years of experience working as an architect and master planner and spent the better part of that time at the largest and most prominent independent architectural firm in Boston. He has helped design numerous award winning projects stretching across the country, from the beaches of California to the classrooms at MIT. Bringing with him extraordinary talent, knowledge and artistry, Deron is a welcome addition to our team. Did I mention his wicked sense of humor? After twenty-four years in New England, he and his wife made the trek out to Colorado, along with their two labs (Tyler & Gus). They are looking forward to hiking, camping and crushing as many 14ers as possible. Deron (AKA: The Setter of Lofty Goals) has also decided that he will complete his first 100 mile running race next year. Run Deron run!
Brandon was raised on a ranch in Texas, and has the distinction of being the first Team Roper on staff at Craine Architecture. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture at Texas Tech, and his Master of Architecture at the University of Colorado. Along the way, he furthered his studies in Montreal, Berlin, and Rome. He has almost a decade of experience in the field of architecture, and has already left his mark on beautifully designed buildings throughout Colorado. When he steps out of the world of design, you may find Brandon enjoying a myriad of outdoor activities with his lovely wife. You are also apt to find him hanging with his dog (Mr. Hank), volunteering at UCD as a Studio Guest Reviewer, or cooking up a storm--sans celery…no ants on a log for this guy, he isn’t a fan of the crispy green veg.
After calling Lafayette, Louisiana his home since birth, Benjamin and his fiancé recently relocated to Denver. Undoubtedly, his home state was despondent upon his departure, as Benjamin is not only affable and intelligent, but he is driven and passionate about the field of architecture. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Louisiana State University, where he was also awarded the Distinguished Communicator Medal and AIA Henry Adams Certificate. Additionally, while at LSU, he studied abroad in London and Rome. His love for timeless design and appreciation for a variety of cultures was perhaps cemented by his additional travels to Argentina, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, The Netherlands…okay, you get the picture. Benjamin’s love of music, coupled with his apparent need to be an overachiever has resulted in musical proficiency with the following instruments: piano, guitar, ukulele and djembe (Yes, I had to look that up too). When he meanders away from the office, you may find him kayaking, camping or hiking all the while crafting a plan to skydive over the Alps in Switzerland. I wonder if he will attempt to skydive while playing a musical instrument? I can totally see that.
After completing Denmark’s International Study Program where she focused on urban planning and 20th century development of Danish cities Melanie graduated Cum Laude from Washington University in St. Louis. She earned her Master of Architecture with High Distinction at the University of Michigan. With almost a decade of experience in planning, design and project management, Melanie comes to Craine by way of the Lone Star State where she worked predominantly on multifamily and mixed-use projects. She is highly focused and attentive, while simultaneously able to sustain a macroscopic view of a project and its context. Outside of the office, Melanie spends time with her terrier mix, Eleanor, and you are apt to find her cooking, hiking or enjoying some science fiction. A little fact about Melanie…she was born in England and aspires to, one day, own an English narrowboat and travel the rivers of the world. Bloody brilliant, if you ask me!
With three decades of experience in the world of architecture, and having worked in firms from Jackson Hole, Wyoming to the Florida Keys, Leslie has a wealth of design experience. She has worked as a Senior Project Architect taking the lead on a multitude of project types including mountain resorts, conference centers, high end residential and mixed-use projects. To each project, Leslie brings not only the knowledge she has gained from years of experience, but also genuine enthusiasm for the world of architecture and design. She is invigorated by the unique challenges that each project presents and can skillfully offer a multitude of solutions, each tailored to meet the client’s needs while simultaneously optimizing the design aesthetic and maximizing the public’s engagement with the building. She values relationships, and that emphasis is maintained with her design team and her clients. Leslie was raised in California, and graduated from the University of California Berkley, but has spent much of her adult life in Colorado, where she is able to best embrace her love for the outdoors. She is passionate about horses, having had nine of them at one time. Currently, she competes with her horse in the sport of Reigning throughout Colorado and the surrounding states. Yes, you should Google that.
While having lived in Denver for almost three decades, Andrea hails from Happy, Texas. Yes, that is the name of the town, not a descriptor of the state. She earned her accounting degree from CU Denver. Andrea has been a fixture in the accounting, marketing and administrative aspects of design firms in Denver for over a decade and there is nothing this virtuoso cannot do when it comes to keeping a business running seamlessly. Andrea spends her free time with her family and two dogs, and you are apt to find her outside camping, 4-wheeling, or just soaking up some rays of sunshine.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame’s School of Architecture, Joe spent a year in the Rome Studies program, which emphasized traditional building techniques, as well as urban planning and design. After graduation, he worked for nearly a decade in Santa Barbara, most recently as a Job Captain focused on high end residential and boutique resort projects. While he certainly shows reverence to classical architectural design, he is adept at blending traditional elements with modern concepts into a cohesive and timeless project. How does this polished designer express his wild Roman side? Well, for his 21st birthday he had a toga party in Rome and delivered a speech in front of the Pantheon. Now that is out of his system, he opts for more understated enjoyments, such as snowboarding, engaging in CrossFit, and cheering on the Fighting Irish. When he is feeling particularly pensive, you may find him lounging in a hammock with his kitten (Luna), daydreaming about snagging a ride in the Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Festival. Need a co-pilot for the next dirigible gala in New Mexico? Joe is your man.
John earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics and his Master of Architecture at the University of Michigan. He has worked in nationally recognized architectural firms from Chicago to Washington DC, collaborating on varied project types including commercial and mixed-use developments. John is an exceptional team player, communicator and solver of complex problems. When you can pull John away from the office, you may find him playing tennis or hyping underrated restaurants (who doesn’t love an underdog?). Quirky John fact: he has been known to clean rogue toothpaste out of the cap with a Q-tip and he is absolutely judging you if you squeeze the tube in the middle. Ah, the frequently intersecting circles of the Venn diagram: architects and obsessive-compulsive behavior.

A true hodophile, Amy has been on a quest to get to all 58 National Parks and all seven continents She has visited 16 National Parks and just returned from Peru and Bolivia; it’s fair to say she is making some good progress! If you see someone speeding past you, there is a good shot it is Amy, on her way to her next destination.
A Detroit native, Kristy moved to Colorado for graduate school. She earned her Doctorate in Psychology from the University of Denver, practiced for over fifteen years, and then jumped ship. She functions as the General Manager of Craine Architecture, but secretly her goal at the firm is to have a satellite office opened in Michigan and help resurrect Downtown Detroit. Go Lions- Restore the roar!
