Denver has started a new planning process to help guide the future of downtown.
The Denver Downtown Area Plan hasn’t been updated since 2007, so the city and the Downtown Denver Partnership are taking another look. Over the next year or so, they’ll be working with residents, businesses, and others across the city to think about where downtown goes from here. The city has also committed $100 million toward improvements in downtown.
A lot has changed since the last plan was written. Office vacancies are higher, housing demand has shifted, and public space and mobility are being looked at differently than they were twenty years ago.
This is a great opportunity to step back and talk about what downtown should look like moving forward.
